Anecdote:
We have snow today. I began to think catastrophically. Not because of the snow. The snow was very pretty to my boots. I went to yoga class. We had a substitute teacher. His favorite words were “wonderful” and “excellent.” Someone farted in class twice, and everyone gently pretended not to hear. I taught a lot of kids the words “felicity” and “forbearance.” Those were the vocabulary words that interested me most. Go figure.
Something wonderful:
Play Oregon Trail. It’s so important to play.
Something beautiful:
“From Lucy’s mouth and cheek came the fresh fragrance of her violet young being.” – Herman Melville, Pierre, which has a cover on Goodreads that appears pornographic, although this is as explicit as it gets by page 30.
